One Of A Kind a.k.a. "Fella
- MFTHBA Reg. #91-38291 DNA'd
- "Fella" was bred and stood at Duane &
Sally Scott's farm in Rogersville, Missouri - carrying on their
Hawkeye's Black Sambo line through Sambo's Magic Marker and is now
available to serious breeders on the West Coast. According to
Duane, Fella is a horse that never had to be tinkered with - he was bred
to gait. Fella's dam, Lad's Sweetheart was 26 when she
foaled Fella and a real favorite of Duane's since he had known her sire,
Walker's Merry Lad and owner since the early 50's. Duane is of the
opinion that Walker's Merry Lad is one the best out of only three early
stallions he had service his mares. Fella is "Brown Papered" meaning he had to be approved under saddle
demonstrating the fox trot gait before he could be registered in the
MFTHBA.

It
should be noted the equines that made "Fella" who he is today
are the very same that helped
established the Foxtrotter breed over 60 years ago. These purebreds
came from other long established breeds such as Morgans,
Saddlebreds, Standardbreds and Tennessee Walkers.

Not just a pretty face, "Fella"
has the conformation many of us refer to as "form to function" and has been a
working versatile horse while at the Scotts as the photos below will show.
End of the Trail Ranch hopes to
be able to ship "Fella's" cooled semen in 2011. We will have him collected
and the volume and viability of his semen analyzed prior to any shipments to
mare owners; and will continue our policy that there will be no breeding
fee if the recipient mare is inseminated by an experienced reproductive
veterinarian fails to check in foal 21 days after insemination.
